Here’s a strange idea: Take episodes of classic television shows and reedit them so that they tell the complete story of the episode in only 3 1/2 to 5 minutes then post them on the internet for the whole world to enjoy.
Apparently Sony thinks this is a good idea as they are planning to do this to some of their old shows such as “TJ Hooker“, “Starsky and Hutch“, “Charlie’s Angels,” “Diff’rent Strokes,” “The Facts of Life,” “What’s Happening,” “Who’s the Boss,” “The Partridge Family,” “Silver Spoons,” “Sheena,” “V.I.P.,” “Police Woman,” “Dilbert,” “Ricki Lake” and “Fantasy Island.”
They’ve already produced over 300 of these “minisodes” and plan to make a lot more. They will initially be available on the Minisode Network, Sony’s ad-supported Internet-based service scheduled to launch in early summer on MySpace.
You can read more about this idea on Yahoo, Mashable, The New York Times, and MarketingProfs.
