You all remember the Air Force One photo op that had a jumbo jet and some military aircraft buzzing New York and making people think the terrorists escaped Gitmo?  Yeah, well that massive brain hemorrhage wasn’t just scary and insulting to New Yorkers, it was downright expensive to the rest of us taxpayers as well.

The boneheaded stunt sent New Yorkers running for the exits (listen to some 911 calls) but the taxpayers will be reaching for their wallets.  The whole dumb thing cost us about $328,835 according to the Air Force.  I don’t know about everyone else, but that’s a pretty good chunk of change where I come from. 

I guess everyone’s been so caught up in the excitement of spending trillions of dollars of future taxpayer’s money they didn’t think $300K was anything to worry about.  Heck, the Air Force can probably get that money back just buy buying their toilet paper at Costco…
