Socialism – The Word That We Dare Not Speak

2009 April 13

I read an article today I felt that I should share with my readers.  J.D. Longstreet wrote an article called The “S” Word IS Accurate over on All American Blogger that I think really says what much of us feel and know to be true.

When I began using the word “Socialism” and “Socialist” to describe our new government… mainly the executive and legislative branches of said government, I was among the very few commentators to “call it as I saw it.” I was being honest. I use the word to describe that which I am observing, as it is being acted out right before my eyes.

I too began calling “it as I saw it” from early on.  The Obama supporters hated during the election when myself and Longstreet and others called Obama out on his Socialistic tendencies and warned about what he would do if he became President.  I’m sure they still hate it as the author of the article says.  And I am absolutely convinced he is correct in his other assertions as well.

What we are seeing, dear reader, is a move by the leftist/socialists to “redefine” socialism in a vain attempt to camouflage it so the less educated, the less sophisticated among us, won’t recognize it as the “Nation-Killer” that it is. Given the absolutely absurd public education system in America and the two generations that are products of that system… their task will not be a difficult one. What I mean is… Modern Americans are too dumb to know the difference between REAL socialism and whatever the socialists, now in charge of the US Government, and the ever “faithful-to-Obama” Mainstream Media, tells them it is.

While I do not share the authors ultimate cynicism and pessimism that it’s already too late for our country, I do share his fear that we are already on the long slide down.

I know exactly what he’s talking about when he mentions the issue of the Civil War and how it is taught in school that it was only an issue of slavery.  I, along with almost everyone I know, was taught that very thing.  It wasn’t until I studied the war on my own when I was older that I learned of the many complicated states rights issues and other issues that were involved as well.

I encourage you to read the full article here.
