I’m still amazed that anyone who has studied or even haphazardly investigated Barack Obama’s tax plans can view them as anything other than what they really are: redistribution of wealth.  We have other names for that idea – names such as Socialism, Marxism, and Communism.

If you don’t believe me, perhaps you should listen to Obama himself as he tries to explain his motive for his tax plan.

Plumber to Obama: “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more. Isn’t it?”

Obama: “It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success too.  I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Listen to him again.  Read along with the quote.  Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Did you get that?  He doesn’t want to punish you for your success.  He just wants to take your money and give it to someone else who doesn’t have any success.  In other words, he wants to take from the rich and give to the poor.  Yeah, he’s a real Robin Hood.  Notice he didn’t tell that man that he wasn’t going to raise taxes or that the man won’t be paying more in taxes.  In fact, he seems to imply that he will, but that it’s okay because Obama has a plan – a plan to help those less fortunate…with our money.

How does this not bother everyone, including Democrats, who work for a living?  If you aren’t living off the welfare system, why aren’t you concerned about a politician who wants to take your hard earned money and give it to someone else just because that other person doesn’t have as much as you have.

You see, the problem I have with this concept is 1) it’s been shown to not work countless times over the years as every nation who has adopted such a system has failed miserably and 2) it’s anti-American.  Yes, it goes against the very principles that make America great.

I think America is about working hard and earning reward.  It’s about having a dream of a better life and working hard to better yourself as you try to achieve your dream.  It’s about personal responsibility.  It’s about realizing that everyone won’t make it to the top, but that’s okay because not everyone dreams of making it to the top.

Obama’s planned tax policy isn’t about any of those things.  It’s about deception and redistribution.  It’s completely unfair and un-American.  Take a look at the Wall Street Journal’s analysis of the plan if you don’t believe me and see what they have to say about it.

Punishing people for achieving success is not the way to better our nation.  Why should someone who is rich have to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than someone who is middle class?  Simply because their net income is greater?  How is that logical?  How is that fair?  Shouldn’t we all pay the same basic percentage?  I mean, the rich WILL pay more taxes because they earn more.  But they shouldn’t have to pay a higher percentage than other people.

Only the very poor who have no dreams or no plans of achieving success could possibly think such a plan is a good plan.  Only those who hope to benefit from the governmentally approved rape of the upper class could think this is fair.

And I ask you this?  What happens when businesses who are labeled as “rich” and people who are labeled as “rich” have to pay more taxes?  Do you think they just absorb those losses?  No, they raise the prices they charge in their stores.  They lay off the people that work for them.  They stop buying things in smaller stores.  They stop using services that depend on their business.  And, at some point, they stop being rich.

So what happens when the people the government has labeled as “rich” are no longer rich enough to pay for all of the handouts and redistribution that they’ve promised the lower classes?  Well, the government has to find a new cash cow.  They simply redefine the meaning of “rich.”  So, before, what was once maybe upper middle class now becomes rich and must now pay a higher percentage of taxes because someone HAS to pay for the welfare state the government is establishing.  The government, as we all know, won’t be able to BORROW the money so they’ll have to tax someone.  Once that class of people is tapped out, they’ll simply move on to the next class.

The problem, of course, is that once the rich stop being rich, all of the rest of us suffer too.  Once they lay us off and stop buying our products and using our services who is left to take their place?  No one.  The next class of people will be paying more taxes so they’ll have to stop hiring people and buying our products and using our services and even more small business (big businesses too) will be ruined.  Do you really think this sort of policy could help our economy grow?

Why are the Democrats and Liberals so intent on seeing everyone in this nation at the same socio-economic level?  Why are they so persistent in wanting to grow the government welfare system and take our money to pay for it?

How does anyone with any intelligence think this could work?  Please, someone explain it to me!
