Jason A Clark and Mike Olbinski Join Forces To Form PopCritics.com
Announcing Pop Critics!
It was announced today that Jason A Clark, author of the entertainment blog, Inner88, and Mike Olbinski, author of the entertainment blog, A Mike Life, have joined forces to form Pop Critics (http://www.PopCritics.com).
Pop Critics was founded by the two aspiring writers after a chance online meeting grew into a friendship forged by friendly competition on the website BloggingZoom.com, a Digg like site designed to help bloggers promote their material.
What Is Pop Critics?
Pop Critics will be an entertainment hub, a central location, where readers can go for the latest in pop culture and entertainment news and notes. Capitalizing on the popular features of each of their individual sites, Mike and Jason will offer their opinions, musings, and general feelings on news in the world of television, movies, books, music, and whatever else in the world of pop culture that tickles their fancies.
“For a while we were actually competing with one another, trying to beat each other to the biggest breaking stories or the hottest movie trailers. But at some point we realized that we kept writing the same stuff – from almost the same perspective,†said Mike Olbinski of A Mike Life. “It just dawned on us at some point that it made a lot more sense to team up and offer our readers twice as much quality and twice as much content with half as much work for us.â€
Jason A Clark of Inner88 adds that “our blogs were just so close in nature, so parallel in subject matter, so cosmically aligned to the same topics and opinions, that one day we just felt like things would be a heck of a lot easier if we teamed up…you know, like Batman and Robin, or Laverne and Shirley.â€
The two aspiring internet entrepreneurs have big plans for the future of Pop Critics. Although the immediate future will be filled with merging content from their individual sites into the new site and creating new content, the dynamic duo eventually hope to bring in guest bloggers and possibly expand into other subjects.
“I don’t think you’ll ever see Pop Critics doing recaps for Rock Of Love or a movie review for The Hottie or the Nottie unless we’re making fun of it,†says Mike. Jason interrupts to add, “What we do want is to bring our readers quality reporting on things they SHOULD be paying attention to today because they are the things the world will be paying attention to tomorrow.â€
What About Inner88 and A Mike Life?
In the meantime, Inner88 and A Mike Life will stay active although most of the content relating to Pop Culture will now be posted on Pop Critics. Most of the older relevant content on both sites will be redirected to Pop Critics.
How Do I Subscribe To Pop Critics?
If you are a RSS subscriber to either Inner88 or A Mike Life, please consider subscribing to the Pop Critics RSS feed so you will continue to get the quality content you have come to depend on. You can subscribe via RSS by clicking here or by visiting the site and clicking the RSS icon anywhere you see it. Email subscriptions are also available at the site.
BCS Names Patriots NFL Champs
In a stunning reversal of the outcome of the Super Bowl in which the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-14, officials for the BCS (college Bowl Championship Series) have stepped in to proclaim the Patriots the true NFL Champions.
“It was obvious to everyone that the NFL made a huge mistake with this one,” said one unnamed BCS official. “The Patriots only lost one game the whole season. The Giants already lost to the Patriots and four other teams including The Cowboys and The Packers. Do the math.”
BCS officials met behind closed doors late Sunday night after the Super Bowl victory by the Giants made it apparent that the NFL would name The Giants the champions. Details of the meeting remain sketchy but reports indicate that the mood in the room was one of determined justice. The BCS officials were determined to make right what they felt their “big brothers” in the NFL were getting wrong.
“This is why we don’t have a playoff system in college,” our source told us. “You get this craziness of a 14-6 team being named champion over a team that’s 18-1. It was just one game; three points. You can’t take away all the winning they did over the other 18 games because a team got lucky for a few minutes in the fourth quarter of one game. That’s insane. In the BCS this wouldn’t even have been an issue. The Patriots would have been the champs before we ever even played that bowl game - which is the way it should be.”
Members of the New York Giants football team have been keeping mostly quiet on the subject. When asked his opinion of the matter, Giants quarterback Eli Manning cried out, “It’s not fair!” before bursting into tears and fleeing the room.

Bill Belichick is said to have smiled.
The NFL has not yet made an official comment. Our sources tell us they are still researching the matter to see if the BCS is even a valid sports organization or if they have any actual jurisdiction over the NFL. One source even confirmed the widespread belief within the NFL ranks that the BCS has been overrun with Scientologists. The NFL is said to be pursuing the possibility of having the BCS named a cult by the US Government.
Please note: This is a fictional story designed to be humorous and satirical in nature. The BCS did not really name The Patriots the NFL Champions nor did any of these people actually say any of these things. This is all made up.
